I just hope lower gas prices won’t stop the green movement.

Hopefully Barack Obama will take this more seriously than the previous administration

Hey you know, 48% of all electric car owners in California use solar to produce their electricity? And I believe that number will only rise from now on

there is much more background on the electric vehicle to be revealed ,note the granting of govt money to the overpriced suv market [breaking the back of us moter industry , has its roots in the syuppression of this vehicle [each suv subsidised to tune of 35,000 us] but toi get that subsidy [grant] cash , they had to ditch these brandnew cars

of course its better to use solar or wind, but I am correcting your mistake about coal plants and gas cars. About which is more efficient.

I’m at work right now and don’t have the time to run down the exact figures of cost comparisons or polution comparisons but it shouldn’t be too hard to google those figures.
Even if it were twice as effecient to run your car on oil produced electricity than a gas engine, it is obviously better to produce the electricity by fosil free means.

how are coal powered electric plants less efficient? electricity from coal plants are more efficient than gas cars. Where did you hear that coal plants waste more? Coal plants are getting more efficient. Gas cars aren’t getting more efficient.

Here’s a thought, invest what you would have spend for say, a years worth of gas, into a solar/wind power source for your home.

Before you start jumping for joy for the electric veh.
for anti-polution reasons you should consider that if oil or coal are producing the electricity to charge your electric car, I have heard that it takes twice the oil (therefore twice the polution)to produce electricity as it does to run you gas guzzler per mile. However, if wind, solar or hydro generators produce the electricity then we have progress.
